UD Las Palmas dismisses Pako Ayestarán as coach of the first team after the team’s defeat today against Deportivo de La Coruña in Copa del Rey. Paquito Ortiz and Rafa Cristóbal take over the team until the club announces the new coach.
The board of directors chaired by Miguel Angel Ramírez, after the meeting held tonight after the end of the round of the 16th round of the Copa del Rey that has faced the UD Las Palmas with Deportivo de La Coruña, has decided to dismiss Pako Ayestarán as coach of the first team.
The club wants to thank the Basque coach for his work and dedication to the front of the yellow bench since his arrival at the end of September. His assistants, David Caneda and José Viela, also disengage.
Pako Ayestarán, after replacing Manolo Márquez in the 7th round, led the UD Las Palmas for seven league games (six defeats and one draw, against Real Sociedad) and two more in Copa del Rey (a victory in Riazor for 1-4, plus today’s loss against the Galician side 2-3).
Until the club announces the new coach, Paquito Ortiz and Rafa Cristóbal will take over the team.
